Families Communicating Via Video Calls

Supervision with Tyla, our Director and Principal Psychologist, provides early career psychologists with a safe, affirming, and growth-focused space to develop their professional identity and confidence.

About Tyla as a Supervisor

Tyla brings of experience in:

  • Neurodiversity-affirming practice: Working extensively with autistic and ADHD clients across the lifespan, but predominantly young children and their families.

  • Strengths-based assessments: Delivering comprehensive and affirming diagnostic assessments for autism, ADHD, learning differences, developmental delay and cognitive functioning.

  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS): This is always viewed through an affirming lens. The attention is not on ‘fixing behaviours’, but on reducing stressors and building supportive contexts. Understanding the needs and adjusting the world around the person so that they can be their authentic self is the goal.

  • Lived experience perspective – Tyla values the intersection of lived and professional experience, helping supervisees reflect on their own identities and values in shaping their practice.

Focus Areas in Supervision

Supervision sessions are collaborative and tailored to your professional needs. Areas of focus often include:

  • Developing a neuroaffirming assessment framework (ADOS-2, MIGDAS-2, Conners, BRIEF, ABAS-3, and more).

  • Building skills in report writing that is accessible, affirming, and strengths-based.

  • Understanding differential diagnosis between ADHD, autism, learning differences, and mental health presentations.

  • Approaching behaviour support planning through an affirming, capacity-building lens.

  • Managing ethical dilemmas, boundaries, and professional self-care as an early career psychologist.

Supervision with Tyla is available online on a Monday or a Wednesday and is $250.00 per session. We welcome provisionally registered psychologists, early career psychologists, and allied health professionals seeking affirming guidance in assessment and support.
