An affirming workshop discussing the assessment for autism in young children utilising the MIGDAS-2.

This workshop has been designed to assist practitioners in utilising the MIGDAS-2 in children when assessing for Autism. 

​

• A quick introduction to Autism, discussing both the internalised vs. the more observable presentations we may see in autistic children (some prior knowledge of Autism is assumed).

• How to conduct a clinical intake with the child's parents and initial indicators of an autistic neurotype.

• The MIGDAS-2 in Children - A Summary of this assessment tool and how to set up your assessment session (stimuli / environment etc.)

• Observations and assessment recordings of the MIGDAS-2 in practice.

• Discussion of the assessment forms used in addition to the MIGDAS-2 and how to use these to strengthen clinical judgement and observation information (or how to recognise the potential for differential or co-occuring diagnoses).

• The report - how to include affirming and helpful information and how to structure this, with a (template provided).

The workshop and slides will be conducted via Zoom, and a recording will be provided if you can not attend in person. A workbook will also be provided.
